The name is Monica, it was giving to me by my Madre. The
reason why she gave me that name is because she really liked it a lot because at
the time it wasn’t a common name like everyone else had and it is still not a
common name. I also got my middle name Ann from my mother, she got it from her
mom’s middle name.
A funny story about me when I was born was when my Tia went
to hold me for the first time she went and kissed me and rite as she did that I
threw up on her face, and after that she didn’t hold me again for a couple of
days. In my families birth order I am the first born. So that means that I get
more privileges than the rest of them, but it also means that I am suppose to
be the one who sets the example. One thing I remember about my little brother
being born was that he was very playful even as a baby he always tried to do
things he wasn’t old enough for and I also remember that he was very spoiled
because he was the first boy and only boy in my intermediate family. One thing
I remember about my youngest sister being born was that when she was 8 months
she was trying so hard to learn how to walk she really didn’t care for crawling,
she just really wanted to walk and about 3 weeks later she learned. Some of my
best memories of going and spending time with my grandma was all of them
because, she past a way the summer of my 7th grade year. But some
memories that stand out to me were the times when I wood go to her house and it
wood smell so good of fresh strawberry pies and other good sweets. I also have
many good memories with my great-grandma. Some of those memories are going over
every Christmas and eating tamales and her rice till I couldn’t. I really don’t
have a lot of memories about my grandpa because he past away when I was little
but one I always think about is when I was about four I was helping him clean
the backyard when I found a five dollar bill I was so excited because at the
time it was a lot of money to four year old. And I showed my grandpa and he said
I could keep it, so I kept it. Then later on that day the ice cream man came and
I asked my grandpa if we could go get some thing he said “Yea hurry come on lets
go but don’t tell your grandma.”
Some thing I would say that is special and unique about my
family is that I have a really big family on my dad’s side of the family in
total I have about 50 cousins, and every year we have a type of family get
together where all my tio’s and tia’s and their kids come to my uncles house and
we have a party and really catch up on everything and just have fun been
together. A special holiday tradition I have in my family is on my mom’s side we
always go too my grandma’s house and spend Christmas together and eat a lot of
food like tamales, ham, mashed potatoes, rice and many different types of
deserts.
My two favorite
holiday memories with my family would definitely be Christmas.
When I go to my grandma’s house. My second favorite is
New Years because we always have a big party at my house with all my family and close friends.
The only place I have lived is in
Oxnard Ca. If I
were to
describe my experience living in Oxnard I would say it was pretty good. I like
the weather and the people that I have meet living here. I also like that I live
really close to the beach.
I would have to say the only thing I really
like about school is my friends, and getting away for a while from my family.
What I dislike about school is some of the teachers here because some of them
are really mean and act dumb with students. I also don’t like some of the people
that come here because of how they act, or try to act. The only sport I have
done so far is Track and Field, and for the most part I would have to say it was
cool I meet new people and gained new friends.
So far the only subject I really liked was
Home Ec. with Mrs. Ida, because she was a very cool and understanding teacher.
The subject that I hate the most is definitely math! The reason why I truly
dislike math is because, ever since I was little I had so much trouble with it
and I really just could get the hang of it.
The colleges I hope to get accepted to are the
following: San Diego State, U.C.S.B. or
Arizona State or Florida State. The
reason why I choose those schools is because, I really like them and most of
them aren’t that far from home. My plans for after school are to go to college
full time and get my masters degree in sociology. The career I chose was to
become a social worker. The reason why I choose to become a social worker is
because I really want to help kids in need, so they can have a normal life. My
biggest goal is to open a kind of home were women and their children can live if
they have no place to go. For example, where it is peaceful and you they won’t
have to worry about their children having a bad life.

Computer Applications Class Project
