My mother named me after her favorite actress/singer. Now
I have the name of Daniela and I am satisfied with it. I don’t think I would
ever change it, just for the fact that I know that it is what she wanted me to
go after and it reminds me of her.
I was born in
Ventura. When my
mom was in the hospital having me, my dad didn’t let anyone know about it
because he didn’t want to get my grandparents and the rest of the family
worried. In my family my grandma has 5 granddaughters and no boys. I am the
oldest one of all 5. I am an only child so I wouldn’t know how hard it would
be to be there while my mom gave birth to another child. I live with my
grandparents so its fun at times, they always help me out. I’ve lived with
them since I was seven and they’re somewhat like my own parents.
Me and my family have been
through many unforgettable moments. We always stick together through thick and
thin. For holidays we always get together and have feasts. Of course my
grandma is the one that cooks the food. My favorite memory of a family holiday
was when my boyfriend came over to my house for Christmas. I was scared and at
the same time happy because I didn’t know whether they were going to like him
or not. I didn’t know what to expect.
Throughout my life I have lived in 2 different cities. Lompoc and now Oxnard.
Both of them are really calm cities with nice weather, but I have to admit
that I like Oxnard better. Even the schools are better here. Lompoc wasn’t all
that great because it was lonely and there isn’t really much to do there. We
would always come over for holidays and weekends to spend time with the family
and friends. Now that I live here I get to spend more time with my cousins and
we are closer.
I attend
Oxnard High School. When I think about school I think about my
favorite classes and of course, my friends. I like to show up on time and get
my work done because I know that in the end it will all pay off. In this time
of the year is when most students start slacking off and I have to admit that
I do get lazy, and the thought of the classes
being an hour and a half long
does hit me, but I end up showing up. I’m not into any clubs or sports, but
I’m thinking about joining soccer next year.
My favorite subject would have to be math
because it really makes me think. I enjoy the fact that it gives me a
challenge but I end up figuring it out in the end. The subject that gave me
the most headaches was my Spanish class in the first two terms. Since I was
taught a different way of speaking it at home it wasn’t easy learning it in
school. Throughout my school years I have received so many awards such as
perfect attendance, student of the month, basketball, spelling bee and many
more.
After finishing high school, I am going to
go to college and get a good education in
Business Administration so that I
can open my own beauty salon. I have always wanted my own business and I think
working in that area, I will meet more people and have fun at the same time.
In order to reach my goal I will stay focused.
