My brother and sister picked
the name Clarissa. They got it from a Soap opera star by the same name. She
was a teacher; she loved kids even though, they sometimes behaved badly with
other teachers but, she defended them like they were hers. I think my brothers
picked that name because they wanted me to be like her.
At my birth it was only my mom
and her friend; I don’t think anyone else was there. There are no funny
stories to tell when I was born, but I drank water from the placenta because
of my brothers’ fault. Anyways, I’m the youngest in the family and I have two brothers and three sisters. My grandma lives in
Tepic, Nayarit in Mexico so I don’t visit her but she comes over here. We don’t really communicate.
These days families only talk
to each other for a very short time, but in our case we are close, we eat
together and if we go out we go out together. The only thing we consider
special is celebrating the death of Jesus Christ. We have a speech that
reminds us why we are there and why Jesus did what he did. Then, we pass the
wine and bread he passed in the last supper. This is also the only thing we
celebrate, well of course the other fun things like parties, hanging out, and
having fun with friends.
So many years have passed
since I have been living in this city,
Oxnard. My family still says they are
not moving even though I have mentioned to them several times if we would ever
move, but they still say no. I don’t approve of that, if I ever leave this
city I will go live in
Italy. Why? I’ve always wanted to learn their language
and see their country. This will help me to learn a new language, with that I
will know how to speak three languages.
The only part that I like about school is
lunch. It’s better than all of my other classes because you don’t have to do
nothing except hang out with your friends and enjoy. I like my classes and all,
but sometimes I get tired of working and hearing the teachers talk about stuff
that has nothing to do with the lesson. Another thing that I dislike about
school is people fighting for no good reason and using violence to settle it
down.
I don’t plan to go to college because I
don’t want to waste all that money for nothing. I don’t know if I am going to
live tomorrow so why bother. Anyways I am just getting a job after
Oxnard High School
and live a normal life.
I
would have to say science because I think it’s a fun class. You just do projects
and learn interesting stuff. This year the class that I hated the most was
Spanish because the teacher would always talk and talk and wouldn’t shut up. She
also gave to much work and I would sometimes fall asleep in her class.
