When it comes to music I
feel you need to be open minded because in some way you can relate to the artist
and the point they are trying to get across to their listeners. I am a very open
minded person, but I ended up falling in love with the Hip Hop culture and
music. I would say that listening and discovering hip hop music and artist would
be my hobby. From the ill beats to the unique sound of the rappers voice makes
me want to keep listening. Most artists in the hip hop industry have been
through trials and tribulations and
they
want to voice that to the people and open their eyes to things they didn’t know.
Even some want to help kids that are going through the same things today. When
you really sit down and listen to what they are saying you can feel the pain or
joy that they have been through, and either you can relate to it or just
appreciate it. Artists that are honest and real with their fans are truly in it
for the creativity of the music not just the fame or the money. Depending on
what kind of mood I am in, I love to just put on my ipod and escape into the
music. I can listen to anything from the
Wu-Tang Clan and Lauren Hill to
Jay Z and TLC. Old school hip hop is my favorite, but I do like and listen to modern
day hip hop like Lupe Fiasco and even Danity Kane.
There
are many different generations of Hip Hop the first one started back in 1979,
but in 1986 is when it really became popular with
Def Jam Recordings including Run DMC,
Public Enemy, Ice T, and even LL Cool J. Emceeing and Deejaying to graffiti and
breakdancing Hip Hop will never die.
