I am the first born child and there is no reason to be
named Brenda. I wasn’t named after anyone in particular. I was supposed be named Yahaira but my mom forgot that name when they were at the hospital. One of the stories that
my parents told me is that I was really tiny when I was born and everyone asked
how old I was that is why I am so short right know. I am the oldest in the birth
order of my family. I have one little sister and I remember when she was born I
always wanted to play with her but I couldn’t because she was little. I used to
drag her down the floor so she could play with me. Since then I had to wait
until she was old enough to play with. I have spent time with my grandma when I
go to Mexico. My Grandma and I go to the stores and we buy food and other
supplies we would need for that night to eat dinner. One of the memories I have
when I went to my grandma’s house was that she had this cat, and I never liked
it so I threw it under the fridge.
One
of the traditions we do with our family is Posada. At the beginning of December
we pray the rosary every day for an hour. We pray that night they cook food and
give out candy bags for the little kids one of the memories I like about my
family is on Christmas we do a gift exchange we put everyone’s name on little
tiny pieces of papers and stick them in a cup. Everyone takes a piece of paper
and who ever they get that is the person they will be getting a gift for on
Christmas. I remember we forgot to put my uncle’s name in the cup and that
Christmas he did not get a present that was pretty sad. That night he had felt
left out with no present for him.
I have only lived in Oxnard for all my life, but I was born
in Ventura. What I like about Oxnard is that there are a lot of shopping
centers and restaurants to go. I have moved to lots of houses in Oxnard more
like about 9 houses in total.
My favorite hobby is hanging out with friends. I like
hanging out with my friends because we go to many different places. Sometimes we
go to the movies or even the mall, to go eat somewhere, take pictures or go get
our nails done. What I do in my spare time is listen music. The type of music I
listen to is Hip-Hop & RMB. I like that type of music because it really has a
nice beat.

of the sports I like best and have played before is gymnastics. I used to do One

gymnastics when I was little. I don’t know where I got the flexibility from but
I am really good at doing cartwheels, round offs, and many more exercises. What
I like best about it, is that I like flipping over. I really didn’t play a
position, it was more like a club. The club name was American Cheer and I loved
that gymnastic club because he coach would always help us when we couldn’t
understand a flip. He would help us learn how to flip over by using the plastic
tubs.
I
like the sports at school because I am a very athletic person. One of the my
favorite sport here at Oxnard High school is the Tennis team because that is my
favorite sport. What I dislike about Oxnard High school is that we come to
school at 8:00am. I think we should come in at 9:00 everyday.

My favorite subject is Spanish because I already know the
language. The subject that most gave me the headaches is Algebra 1 because I
never did well in the subject of math. I have really good attendance; I only
miss a little bit of school once in a while.
The University I plan to go is UCSB because is a very nice
school and it is close to where I live. I choose this University because I
always wanted to go there and because is a really nice place to go to and they
have really good programs. My future plans is to become a Veterinarian because I
