Welcome
My name, Gustavo was given by both of my parents. I have no
idea how my parents came up with it, but they just thought it was a pretty
simple name. I have one brother and two sisters, I’m not the oldest but I’m
considered the oldest right now since my oldest sister is already married. As
you can imagine, I’m the boss. I don’t have that many stories when I was born
because my parents were only planning having my sister so I was a big surprise
for them. I’ve spent most of the time when I was a kid with my grandparents,
since we used to live with them. I’ve had so many enjoyable memories with them
but what I would enjoy the most it was just knowing that they were there to
spend time with me. Now that I look back I’m glad I’ve got to spend some time
with them since now they’re not here.
What I consider so special about my family is that we don’t
live that far from each other; also we have a pretty big family since my dad has
ten brothers plus my mom’s family. This is always nice to have since we have so
many people available in case of help. We don’t really celebrate holidays but we
do party and have fun very often. One of best enjoyable party’s we had was when
my grandparents where still alive it was such an great time we spent together.
I was born in Mexico but I grew up in the (USA). As far as
I remember it is a big difference on the country but it doesn’t make any
difference as long as I’m with my family.
My favorite hobbies are basketball and wrestling. I like
basketball because it’s a team sport, it’s very competitive and is also very
popular in this country. On the other hand, wrestling it’s a very tough sport
and I love taking people down; however, wrestling can get very brutal and can
cause injuries. Wrestling requires you to train your body. You must be in
shape and in good condition. What I do for my spare time is mostly play
basketball, lift weights, spend time with my friends and family, go on Myspace
and I like to party like a rockstar.
I like to play any sport but the one’s that really get my
attention are basketball, baseball, soccer, wrestling and volleyball. The best
about these sports is that I’m really good at them and are very good exercise.
My favorite positions for each sport are for basketball I like playing
point
guard, soccer I like
playing midfielder and baseball I like playing
outfielder. In my opinion I think
I’m pretty good at all of these sports because of the awards I’ve earned and
the comments from my coaches. I’ve played basketball three consecutive years,
both of my junior high years in Haydock and only one year in Oxnard high
school.
My favorite family trip or vacation was when all of my
family gathered together and decided to go camping to Big Bear for a whole
week. Since we were in top of mountains my cousins and I went for a exploring
walk all around big bear hoping we wouldn’t get lost. On our walk we saw lakes
and a few animals for example; snakes, squirrels, eagles, and many other wild
animals that we were scared of and didn’t want to get near them. I thought the
most exciting part of the trip was just spending time with my all my cousins
and just having the feeling of not being home.
What I like about school are the spicy chicken burgers, I
get to hang out with all of my friends, I enjoy doing sports, it’s preparing me
for my future since I’m planning on going to college and the school has some
very great teachers that really care about the students. What I dislike about
school is just like every one else I don’t like doing the work, the food the
school provides and last but not least the classes this year are too long. This
year I decided to join the wrestling program and so far are team is looking
pretty good. I’m very excited and I will do my best to succeed in this sport.
I don’t really have a favorite subject, but I consider math
one of them since I always do really well on it and I mostly score proficient
when it comes to state test. The subject that gives me the most headaches is
history because they talk about stuff from the past and its just boring, who
cares about the past? We’re looking towards the future-not the past and that is
why I get so many headaches. Even though I don’t really like school I’ve
received so many awards for example perfect attendance, most improved, students
of the month, basketball tournament medals, outstanding effort and many others.
Since college is my goal, I’m planning on attending a
community college for my first two years and finish the other two in a
university. So far I have no idea which university I would like to attend since
I’m barely a sophomore and I still have quite of time; however, I’m doing a
sport and hopefully I can apply for a scholarship before I graduate. The career
that has influenced me the most so far business because is evolves in many jobs
I would like to do such as lawyer, real state and commercial banking and the pay
that they offered is pretty good so I’m looking forward to that, Another reason
why I like business is because I would like to have my own office.
Since I already mentioned my plans for the future, all I
can say is that I’m going to make my dreams come true and to keep my head up in
any situation about school and keep up the hard work.
