My name, Mindi, came from a TV show called “Mork and Mindi”. My mom and dad watched it all the time; they wanted me to be just like the character Mindi. She was out going, always positive, friendly, and always giving. I am the youngest out of four children. The oldest is my sister, Monica, is 27 years old. The second child is my brother Stephen, who is 21. The third child is my brother Jessie, who is 18 years old. I am the Youngest, 16 years old. I spend a lot of time with my grandmas. Both of my grandpas are dead but I still go to see them in the sanitary. I go to see my grandmas at least once a week. My memories of going to my grandmas house are coming together as a family at her house and spending time together.

My family and I are unique and special because my dad is one of thirteen children and we are fortunate to get together every year to celebrate all the holidays. A family tradition we have is that we go to my grandmas house and play games. My favorite memory is going to my grandmas house for Christmas and playing charades.

I have lived in many places. When I was younger we lived in Florida, Michigan, San Diego, and Saticoy. Now I live here in Oxnard. The homes in Florida Michigan and San Diego I don’t remember. The homes in Saticoy where really small and Oxnard’s houses look good. I like Oxnard the best because the neighborhood I live in is really friendly. Everyone watches after each other. The neighborhood that I didn’t really like was Saticoy because the people out there where really rude. There is really nothing to do there.

My favorite hobby is to read. I never get to read as much as I want to, but I read when three books a month. So far I have played three instruments and hope to play more. I started playing the flute in sixth grade and continued until the end of my seventh grade year. My eighth grade year I started playing the piccolo. When I got into high school I switched to the alto sax. I tool lessons at the PAL with Mr. Leghon. I played the flute and piccolo for the band at Fremont Jr. high for two years. When I came into high school I was still playing flute. In the middle of the year I decided to switch to alto sax. Now I am playing alto sax for Mr. Leghon and Oxnard High School. I play for the marching band Jazz band and Concert band. During my spare time I like to watch TV and chill out with my mom and dad. I don’t get to watch much TV because I am always busy with outer activities. My mom and dad are always supporting me in everything I do. They are always busy with things that have to do with me. It pretty good to have some days we can just chill.

I like baseball but I am a girl, so I play softball. I played almost every position. The only position I have problems with is third base. I think I am a good softball player. I have the love for the game. I have been on many teams in my life. I have played for the Oxnard league but now play for the El Rio league. I tried out for the Oxnard team but didn’t make it. I am going to try out again next year.

The best family trip I have taken was to South Carolina. We went down there to go watch my brother graduate. When we where there, there was a lot of trees that were so pretty. The best thing about the trip was that I was able to go see my brother. I don’t get to see my brother that often. The worst thing about the trip is that it was raining while we where out there so we where indoors a lot. I keep slipping because of the rain. I hope to go visit my brother again soon.

What I like about school is that I get to see my friends and meet new people everyday. What I don’t like about school is that some people done care about the school or anyone else except for themselves. They think they can get away with anything. I am in the Oxnard high school marching band. The band is a team. We support our school as much as we can.

My favorite subject is science. I like doing experiments and I like to study astronomy. Math gives me the most headaches. It gives me a headache because it is hard for me to understand it. I received the perfect attendance award every year tell I was in high school. I have received many trophies for playing softball. I received a pin for being in the band.

I plan to go to go to USC because they are well known for their band, and I want to be part of the band. USC has a good reputation with everything you want to learn about. After collage I plan to find a place to live and look for a job. I would like to do something in forensics or a computer engineer. I chose forensics because I an always watching CSI and I want to be able to solve a crime like they do in CSI. I was thinking about a computer engineer because I like working with computers.
