The name, Abby, was given to me by actually both of my
parents. Before I was born, when my parents found out that I was a girl, they
already knew they wanted to name me Abigail, or Abby. My middle name, Rae, is
after my grandfather, who I adore very much. My parents from then on, knew that
I was going to be Abigail Rae. When I was born, it was actually Monday night
football, and no
one was capable to drive her to the hospital because they were
drinking. Thankfully, there was one person there who was able to take her to the
hospital, and almost had to give birth to me if he had left any later. After
giving birth to both my older brother and older sister, the doctor told my mom
that she wasn’t capable of having kids any more because my brother grew in the
wrong tube; my sister, born naturally, and my brother born with a cesarean.
Luckily, she was able to get pregnant again, and actually had me naturally; to this day, I am still perfectly normal. Although my grandparents live across
the country, they were very excited to get another addition to the family.
In my family, most people think that were very unique in
some ways. Within the four of us that live together, we all get along in a very
weird way, if you want to put it that way. My father is very humorous and likes
to make jokes about everything, while my mother is very serious and
temperamental, but still gets along with us. My brother is also very serious,
but still loves to be happy and make others happy as well. With us four, we love
to crack jokes, make fun of each other, and sometimes all help make dinner and
do fun stuff together. Every holiday, we usually go to my Aunt’s house to eat
and get together. With a variety of ages, we do a little bit of everything; from
playing with the little kids in the jolly jumper, to laughing with the adults
when there drinking champagne. In my personal opinion, I love going and visiting
my family, they’re the best!
When I was born, I resided in Oxnard Shores. For two years,
I lived right there by the beach, and even though I was young, went all of the
time with my older brother and sister. After two years of living there, I moved
to YSilver Strand BeachY, where I have stayed ever since. Because it is such a
small town, everyone knows everyone and has grown up with each other. Most of
the kids my age went to Hollywood Beach Elementary School, and then followed up
to E.O. Green. After that, the remaining of us all came here, to Oxnard High
School. I do have to say, between Oxnard Shores and Silver Strand beach, I like
Silver Strand more because that’s where I have spent most of my life.
In my spare time, I like to go to the beach and either
chill with some friends, or go swimming in the ocean. Since I have lived on the
beach my whole life, I can swim pretty well. I also like to spend time on the
computer, which I am very good at, or go to work. Being only 17, it’s not very
often you find someone my age that actually enjoys working. But I must say, I am
one of them. When I was in elementary school, I enjoyed playing the flute.
Although I only took lessons and played for my sixth grade year, I have to say
that it was very entertaining and fun. On my spare time, I usually am either
caught up on the computer, out shopping, or just hanging out with my friends,
which I love to do because I am so sociable.
When I was in elementary school, I also enjoyed playing
basketb
all,
for which I received Most Improved Player. Our team, The Hollywood Beach
Pelicans, were not so good in the beginning, but really showed up to be one of
the best teams later on in the year. I remember the first time we played Rose
Avenue, and we lost by 30 points. Consequently, it angered us to lose, so we
practiced and practiced and finally showed them up, or at least tried. In our
championship game it was tied up in the last 3 seconds, but they scored a shot
in the last second. Me, being a forward, tried my best to shoot as many shots as
I was capable of shooting, but didn’t succeed well enough to win.
As
far as all of the vacations I have been on, I would have to say that my family
trip to Montana was one of the most fun vacations I have ever been on. Because
we drove all the way up there, there were many different sights and time to
waste to visit them. It was my first time I saw Yosemite and the mountains and
cliffs of Utah, where we stayed our first night. When we finally arrived into
Montana, we stayed at my uncle’s house, who lives in the middle of the forest,
for about two weeks. Within those two weeks, I must say that there were the
hottest days of my life, but I couldn’t appreciate it anymore than I did.
After a good lunch meal that my aunt had made us, we went to the Clark Fork
River, which is the first river that Lewis and Clark traveled on and that they
founded. While floating around in it, not only was the weather a scorcher, we
were also attacked by mosquitoes, about one hundred bites each. But to top it
all off I saw a moose for the first time ever! It was awesome! Then, after
coming home and itching by brains out, I came to the conclusion that I was
sunburned more than I have ever been and almost had blisters. But in my
opinion, it was all worth it because I had so much fun!
In the world today, every child has to go to school if they
would like to pursue a career. And that is why I still go. Without a high school
diploma these days, it’s hard to even get a job out of fast food, and I
definitely don’t want to do that for the rest of my career. Being as social as I
am, I do love being able to see my friends every day and chillin' with them all.
Being a
senior and not doing so bad in all my other years of high school, my year is
pretty much set to be easy. Consequently, I don’t think school as being too bad
anymore. But don’t get me wrong, there are some things about school that I
cannot stand. For example, the freshmen who still act like freshman, and the
annoying homework that we get all the time, and the responsibility of being a
senior. These put together kind of makes school not so fun, but in the end it’s
all worth it. I was also in ASB my sophomore year, which was an experience and a
half. Putting together the dances, rallies, football game set-ups, etc. All of
the time put in to them was all worth it though because we want to get a
reaction out of everyone else, and hopefully a great one!
Out of all the classes that I have been in, I would have to
say that Composition is one of my favorite classes, with Mr. Chase. From writing
journals while listening to music, reading stories and writing about them, and
even to our “nature walks,” which mind you are the best! Although I am
not a very big fan of English classes, Mr. Chase makes the class just one
hundred times better. From his outgoing personality, to his jokes of every kind,
you can always say that he is the teacher that every kid wants.
And I say this because I hate English, and he made me look at it in a whole
different perspective.
After I finish high school, I am hoping to go to Ventura
College and take my career from there. Because the first year transferred right
out of high school is free, I hope to take two years at Ventura College, and
then transfer to a UC. I haven’t decided whether I wanted to become something in
the law firm or medical field, but I will do whatever it takes to become
successful. Law firm to me seems very interesting because me being a nosy
person, I am interested in things such as criminal life; but without ever seeing
a courtroom. And medical field, all because I love to help people. That’s just
me!
So I guess you could say, that’s the “E True Hollywood
Story” of Abby Haynes. As time passes, I hope to complete my goal of being
successful and hopefully be married, settled and have a family by the time I’m
thirty. I’m hoping that by the time I graduate from college, that I will have an
excellent career and be able to support myself as well, while still being able
to take fun family vacations like my parents took me on.
