Of all the things I enjoy, I like music the most, but to
be more specific; I really like guitar oriented music. I started playing
guitar late in life which I regret. I wish I would have started at a younger
age. In reality though, I didn’t become interested in music until quite
recently really.

In the past two years alone I have gone to more concerts
than most people go to in a life time; you can say I am making up for lost
time. As stated earlier, I didn’t become really interested in music or guitar
playing until quite recently, so once I did I tried to go to every concert and
show I could. Since 2006 I have seen Iron Maiden, Sammy Hagar, Foreigner,
Velvet Revolver, Guns N Roses, Alice in Chains(twice), Deep Purple, Buck
Cherry, Avenged Sevenfold, Three Inches of Blood, Jett, LA Guns, Adler’s
Appetite, Paul McCartney, and Van Halen. Most of my paychecks go into paying
for concerts.
The best of the concerts would definitely have to be the
Van Halen show; it was a show I had been looking forward to for years. I
never thought it would actually happen. I consider myself lucky to have been
able to see Van Halen reunited with original singer David Lee Roth; that was
really exciting. I am also looking forward to seeing
Iron Maiden again in 2008.

Ever since getting into music I started playing guitar. I
don’t play as much now as I wish I could since I have work and school to deal
with. I really love playing the guitar though. The guitar I have is a Mexican
made fender
Stratocaster. I got it for a fairly cheap price off of ebay. My amp is a
Roland, but one day I hope to own a 5150 3.
My favorite guitarist is
Eddie Van Halen. In my opinion he is the best of all time. He is a
technically brilliant player, but he doesn’t play just to show off like a lot
of virtuosos do. His playing is good, but is used to complement the song as a
whole. Eddie revolutionized guitar playing like no other person has since Jimi
Hendrix. Almost every guitarist who has come after has been influenced by
Eddie. Some of my other favorite guitarists include
Slash and
Ritchie Blackmore.

One day I will hopefully have a fraction of the amount of
talent that either of those guys have. Playing guitar for a living would be
awesome. Maybe one day I’ll make it big in a band. As of now I am going to
just keep playing and keep going to more shows.
