This
year my friends and I have made a book club. The club is still new, only about
a few weeks old, and right now we call it just our book club. The name is
still in the brain waiting for a really good name to come along. The club is
made up of only three people so far; me and two friends, Ana and Carol. When
we get a name for our club we’ll make club cards so we can identify each
other.
In our
club we pass along books
that we liked and think
others will like.
I have gotten my friends hooked on some series that I liked, including;
“Vampire
Kisses”, “Blue
is for
Nightmares” series, and “The
Looking Glass Wars”. The books that we read are all
young adult and revolve around things such as magic and mythical creatures.
The next series that I’m going to introduce to them is the “Twilight”
series by Stephenie Meyer, which was what got me into my other series
mentioned above.
As the club progresses, the other
members will also be passing
along books that they have liked, not just me. One of the members has the
second book of the “Blue is for Nightmares” series, which is “White is for
Magic.” Soon, the club will be like a friendly library that doesn’t charge for
overdue books. When the club becomes bigger, we will need a new
meeting place, since not everyone will have the same
first period as the three of us. Or, when we don’t have the same periods
anymore, to be able to switch and trade books around like we used to. But
we’ll worry about that when the club grows or if we let the club grow at all.
I learn about
these books as we go to stores to get them. The store I go to most is
Barnes and Noble. When I have free time I’ll go to
their Website and look for new books that look good to me, and add them to my
wish list. Like now there’s “Vampire Kisses” #4 and “Silver is for Secrets”
that are currently on my list. I always find books that look good and I’m
always looking for a new series that I can “sink my teeth into.”
The newest series that I’ve found
is the “Sweep”
series. T
hat
is basically about Wicca and Magick. The books that I like seem to always
center on the supernatural. Which is my favorite kind of books, for who would
like to be in the real world for ever? When I read books I find a way to go
into them and live the story line. That is why I love to read, the books just
take you up in their stories, so you can live them too. Books are my greatest
hobby because they are a way that stories can be carried throughout time and
space. This means books have no boundaries to which they must live, as long as
they are kept in good condition.
